UDHAMPUR, Oct 19: Foiling an attempt to smuggle bovine animals, Police today rescued 2 animals and arrested the smugglers at Chenani.
Based on reliable information, a Police party, led by SHO Chenani, laid a surprise naka near Chenani Top on the National Highway and intercepted one Mahindra vehicle bearing Registration number JK11A-1452. Two bovine animals, that were being smuggled to Kashmir, were rescued by the Police. Driver of the vehicle, namely Mohd Shaqil of Chander Kot and his associate Saf Din of Khari Jammu were also arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case has been registered at Police Station Chenani.
