LOS ANGELES, Oct 25: Warner Bros is on the hunt for a female director for ‘Wonder Woman’.
The studio is said to be actively seeking a female filmmaker to take on the high-profile solo superhero film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Female directors of superhero films have been in short supply.
Rachel Talalay directed the poorly-received 1995 ‘Tank Girl’ adaptation. Lexi Alexander directed 2008’s ‘Punisher: War Zone’.
Patty Jenkins was attached to Marvel Studios’ ‘Thor: The Dark World’ before being replaced by Alan Taylor.
Gal Gadot will debut in the role of Wonder Woman in 2016’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ in the iconic superhero’s first live action appearance since the 1970s.
‘The Wonder Woman’ film will be released in 2017. (PTI)
