LIC organizes seminar on Social Security

JAMMU, Oct 27: The Pension and Group Schemes (P&GS) Unit of LIC of India organized awareness camp-cum seminar regarding Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana under the banner of Social Security month.
On the occasion, Ankur Mahajan, Deputy Director ICDS Jammu was the chief guest.
Chaitanya Sharma, Branch Manager, LIC of India explained the benefits being provided through these schemes to the poorest of the poor, land less house holds and 48 other occupations.
He said that the schemes are providing death cover, disability insurance cover and scholarship to downtrodden and weaker section of the society. The focus of the seminar was Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana and Anganwari Karayakarti Bima Yojana, which provide insurance cover at a very low cost to people living under or marginally above poverty line.
Ankur Mahajan in his welcome address highlighted the benefits of the scheme and called upon the officers of Welfare Department to avail full benefits of the scheme.
While speaking, Jasmeet Singh, AD Schemes apprised the participants of the various social security group insurance products and its characteristics.
Chaitanya Sharma in his address asked all the officers to work with zeal and dedication with transparency and accountable as LIC is also a big social organization to wipe out tears of every needy and helpless.
A very healthy interaction was observed during the course of the deliberations of the seminar, and participants showed keen interest and enthusiasm toward the various aspects of the schemes and assured that they will work for the upliftment of the deserving population of the State.
