NEW DELHI : The Supreme Court today directed the Centre to produce all the names of black money account holders by tomorrow.
A bench comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and Justices Madan B Lokur and A K Sikri pulled up the Centre for only revealing three names and holding back the others. The apex court agreed with the contention of the petitioner in the case eminent senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani, who contended that the NDA government was bluffing the nation as Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) was meant only for the protection of honest tax payers, who have kept their money in foreign bank accounts after paying the taxes in India. Mr Jethmalani further contended that DTAA was not meant for cheats, frauds and tax evaders.
