SRINAGAR, Oct 31: Hundreds of paramedical students today protested over the Government’s decision to re-examine them.
The students said that the paramedical council claims that their answer papers have been washed away in last month’s floods.
The paramedical students, mostly studying in private medical training institutes said they had written their first year exams in March-April this year, but the authorities didn’t declare their results on time.
“Now after six months, the paramedical council claims that our answer papers have been washed away in the deluge. They are asking us to reappear in the examination even as we are preparing for the final examination,” said Sajid Hussain, a student.
Sajjad said it is shameful for the Government and the paramedical council for failing to declare our results. “They are hiding their failure under the grab of floods. Our results should have been declared till now but we are asked to appear in the first test,” he said.
The students said their colleges and institutes too have failed them and have accepted their diktats. “Our colleges have asked us to restart the first year course although we have completed that in last year. They want to charge us more fees for the same course. It is totally unjustifiable. These are their wicked methods to mint money from us,” they said.
