JAMMU, Nov 1: A one day training cum awareness programme on the prevention of HIV/AIDS was organised by the State Institute of Education Jammu in collaboration with the J&K State AIDS Prevention and Control Society, Department of Health and Medical Education at Govt (Girls) Hr Secondary School Canal Road.
The programme was conducted under the overall supervision of H.R.Pakhroo, Joint Director Trainings/ Principal SIE Jammu & co-ordinated by Om Parkash Field Advisor, SIE Jammu whereas Ashok Kumar Sharma Sr.Lect. acted as associated coordinator.
Mr Pakhroo highlighted the importance of creating awareness among the masses for preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS which can only be contained through preventive measures.
Director School Education Jammu R.A.Inquilabi was the chief guest on the valedictory function of the training programme who stressed upon holding such training and awareness programme in Educational Institutes to create awareness among the student community about the dreadful disease where preventive measures are most important than cause.
Dr.Deepak Kumar, Deputy Medical Superintendent Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu was the resource person who threw light on all the aspects of HIV/AIDS its causes, spread and the preventive measures.
