Grand ‘Gurmat Smagum’ organized on Mahant Bachittar Singh’s death anniversary

JAMMU, Nov 3: In connection with the 23rd death anniversary of Mahant Bachittar Singh, the12th Mahapurash of Siromani Dera Nagali Sahib Poonch, a grand “Gurmat Smagum” was organized at Digiana Ashram.
On the occasion, Sri Akhand Path Sahib was organized, which was followed by Bhog Smagum under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh of Siromani Dera Nagali Sahib, Poonch.
The Sikh community people from many parts of the State participated in the religious congregation. The ragies, religious preachers and leaders of various social and political organizations participated and paid tributes to holy soul. Bhai Amarjit Singh Ragi of Patiala was specially invited.
Minister for Housing and Sports, Raman Bhalla also visited the Digiana Ashram and paid tributes to Late Mahant Bachittar Singh.
While speaking, Minister apprised the gathering that the refugees package has been passed in the Cabinet with the efforts of Mahant Manjit Singh.
Mahant Manjit Singh in his address said that Mahant Bachittar Singh should be remembered because due to his efforts, the Sikh community in the State is living with honour.
He appealed the Sikh community to remain united for the betterment of everyone and also appealed to the youth of Sikh community to became ‘Amrit Dhari’ and get quality education, which is being provided by the Dera Nagali Sahib Trust.
Rangil Singh, former Minister and Sudarshan Singh Wazir, president, Sikh United Front while addressing the gathering said that Mahant Bachittar Singh had done many works and spread Sikhism in the far flung areas of the State.
Avtar Singh Khalsa, general secretary, Sikh United, Indira Bhalla, Mohinder Singh, Kulwant Singh, Harmohinder Singh, Surinder Singh, Paramjit Singh, Gajan Singh, Manmohan Singh, Ramnik Singh Bijral, besides many others expressed their views on the occasion.
