*Two SPOs arrested, two history sheeters on run

JAMMU, Nov 3: The students of various educational institutions in Miran Sahib area today raised their voice against eve-teasing incidents by taking out a protest rally.
However, two SPOs were arrested by Miran Sahib police for eve-teasing girls and threatening the Principal by trespassing into a private school in Krishna Nagar area of Miran Sahib. Two history sheeters, who were also found involved in this case are at large.
Carrying placards and raising slogans, hundreds of girl students from various educational institutions assembled at Krishna Nagar, Miran Sahib and took out a protest rally. The rally passed through main bazaar of Miran Sahib and later culminated at Krishna Nagar.
Not only girls, but boys also participated in the rally to express their solidarity with girl students for raising voice against teasing.
The students were demanding permanent solution to the eve-teasing incidents, which are taking place day-to-day outside various educational institutions in tehsil RS Pura.
“Police should intensify patrolling outside educational institutions and tuition centres, so that eve-teasing incidents will come to end”, the protestors demanded.
Apart from the arrest of two SPOs in the recently eve-teasing and threatening of Principal of private institution incident, the students were also demanding arrest of two criminals namely Sunny and Sourabh, who were also involved in the incident and are at large.
In protest against the eve-teasing incidents, the educational institutions in the RS Pura tehsil today remained closed after half-time.
The students took out rally under the banner of Private Schools Association, RS Pura. Kishore Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Rameshwar Singh Manhas, besides large number of people from civil society including Sarpanch and Panchs also joined.
As reported earlier, Principal of a private institution lodged a complaint with police station Miran Sahib that two persons namely Sunny, son of Lal Singh of Simble and Sourabh, son of Darshan Lal of village Nadi teased the girl students and also trespassed and threatened him for not taking the matter to police. The names of two SPOs also surfaced in the case.
Accordingly, a case under relevant Sections was registered with Miran Sahib police station and investigation started and during the course of investigation, two SPOs namely Kulbir Singh and Sunil Choudhary were arrested by the police.
When contacted, SP Headquarters Randhir Singh confirmed the arrest of SPOs namely Kulbir Singh and Sunil Choudhary in the recent eve-teasing case and threatening Principal by trespassing into a private institution in Krishna Nagar area of Miran Sahib.
He added that two others namely Sunny and Sourabh are history sheeters and will be behind the bars soon as police have intensified the search to nab them.
