RAJOURI, Nov 3: The district administration has taken serious note of mysterious stray incidents of bottle and stone pelting in Rajouri town for last some days especially during the power curtailment period.
The law and order machinery has been fully tightened by the authorities to deal with any eventuality and police force both in uniforms and civil clothes have been deployed in the town to maintain a constant vigil and nab the people involved in disturbing the peaceful situation in the town.
According to reports for last some days there has been mysterious stray incidents bottle and stone pelting during the period of power cut in the town which has created a panic in the area.
People say some vested elements are trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere during the elections in the town as the incidents take place during the darkness when there is power cut.
However when contacted District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Jitender Singh said that the incidents have taken place for last some days during the power cut and there are apprehensions that some body is trying to disturb the situation. The administration has geared up fully and SSP called a meeting of prominent citizens to seek their cooperation.
The police men have been deployed in uniforms and civil clothes in the town to maintain a constant vigil and the issue was taken during the meeting with Army officer today also, he added.
He said may be some vested elements are trying to polarize the situation for political reasons and administration is seriously watching it as it will not allow any body to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the town.
