Leh, July 23: The Committee for “Quality Control and Monitoring Committee” headed by the Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Leh Tsering Morup inspected the pre-mixing work at main Tukcha Road. He observed that seal coat was being laid manually and instructions were given for utilizing Paver machine.
It was also observed that before laying the premix, the road surface was not properly cleaned and the department was instructed to use air- compressure for removing dust. The tack-coat was also not applied properly as per the standard specifications. The engineers were directed to check the work randomly and payment should be made only after satisfaction of the detailed specification.
Keeping in view the observations, the committee has decided to have much more closer scrutiny over the result and performance of the road for at least six months or for the period mentioned in the agreement and an amount up to 10% will be held up as per the agreement till defection liability period is over.
