Congress takes several steps to empower people: Shabir

JAMMU, Nov 4: Former Minister for Health and MLA Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Khan while continuing his campaign conducted series of meetings at Behrote, Neili and Manhas Mohalla in Rajouri constituency.
Addressing public gatherings at various places in view of Assembly elections, Khan recalled that in order to bring prosperity, peace, brotherhood in the district in particular and State in general, Congress Government took several steps to empower people politically and economically besides initiating measures to fulfill the demands of employees and unemployed.
Khan said that Congress is committed to overall development of the State, especially hilly backward, remote and border areas.
Khan appealed the public to strengthen the party in the best interest of the people of the State and area in particular. He cautioned the people of Pir Panjal Region to stand united against the conspiracies being hatched by outside forces like BJP and Shiv Sena to divide them.
He said that Congress has given a sense of belonging and identity to the backward and neglected regions of the State. He said that those who don’t want this region of Pir Panjal range to flourish are plotting and conspiring against it by dividing the people on basis of caste, region and religion. Khan expressed hope and confidence, that people will see through the motives of vested interests and will re-assert to maintain its unity, strength as well as relevance of the party in the State politics.
Khan highlighted his achievements during his tenure as Minister and felt satisfied with his works. Khan challenged the leaders of various political parties to compare the development in the last six years, with the previous 30 years.
All the Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent persons of the area extended full support and assured MLA his win in the coming Assembly elections.
