Training held for poll staff

REASI, Nov 4: With elections to the three Assembly constituencies slated for December 2, a training programme for the officers and other staff deployed for the election duties was held under the guidance of District Election Officer Reasi Shabir Ahmad Bhatt at Reasi, Arnas and Mahore.
Addressing the polling staff at Reasi, DEO asked them to strictly adhere to the Model Code of Conduct enforced with the announcement of polling date. He said that the ECI has zero tolerance when election is concerned and there is no room for excuse or negligence on the part of the Govt. employees in election duty.
Nodal Officer Man Power & Training-Manu Hansa told the polling personnel and officials about the opening and closing of ballot boxes, identification of valid votes, counting of votes based on priority votes, etc. He further informed them that the conduct of mock poll before the beginning of actual poll is a must to ascertain that the EVMs are working properly but one should not forget to press the clear button of the control unit before it is sealed and before the beginning of actual poll.
The district Level master trainers and the resource persons covered topics such as general introduction to Assembly election, duties of presiding and polling officers before the poll, on polling day and after poll and various do’s and don’ts regarding the EVM through power point presentation, they also explained about the NOTA and filling up of various forms during the polling day.
The doubts raised by the polling officials were also clarified on the occasion. In the afternoon session, a movie on EVM training was also shown which was followed by hands on training of EVMs.  RO 58-Reasi Tilak Raj Sharma, ARO 58-Daljeet Singh, DYSO-S.S Chib, and AD Fisheries-Bharat Bhusan were also present on the occasion.
Similar trainings were held at community hall Arnas by RO 59-Gool Arnas Dr H.S Rana and at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Mahore by RO 59-Gulabgarh Ashwani Kumar Khajuria
