JAMMU, Nov 4: A BSF jawan of 95 Battalion committed suicide by shooting himself with his service gun at Gujjar Chak BSF Post Kotha in Sub Sector Samba in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district early this morning.
He has been identified as sepoy, Narajan Bindra, 41, S/o Dashrat Bindra of Orissa. The frustration is stated to be the cause of his extreme step.
According to Police who was on night duty at Gujjar Chak BSF Post Kotha in Sub Sector Samba under Rajbagh area of Kathua district after finishing his duty in the morning took his service gun and shot himself resulting into his instant death.
The other jawans in panic came out of the post. They informed the Raj Bagh Police which took the body into its custody and shifted it to Hiranagar Sub District Hospital for postmortem.
After conducting the postmortem and other formalities the body was handed over to BSF for being sent to its home State Orissa for last rites. The Raj Bagh Police has registered a case under Section 174.
