Sham lists his development initiatives in hilly belt

AKHNOOR, Nov 6:  To give impetus to the electioneering in hilly belt, Minister for PHE and senior Congress leader, Sham Lal Sharma today opened election office at Chowki Chowra near here today and listed his development initiative in the area during the past one decade.
The Minister addressed largely attended election meetings at Chowki Chowra, Juthal, Bal Sareo, Turgala and Baswah and said all areas of the Akhnoor constituency received focused attention and massive development has taken place in all essential sectors. “Creation of exclusive Sub Division, tehsil, Niabat and CD Block at Chowki Chowra are the biggest achievements for the people of this belt.  Besides, Niabats have also been established at Rah Salyote, Kathar and Ghar Majoor to facilitate the people,” he said adding that with the creation of these administrative units, an effort has been made to bring people of this hilly belt more closer to the Government who used to travel long distance for getting their jobs done at Akhnoor.
Listing other achievements in the belt, the Minister said that during his two tenures as MLA of the constituency, he tried to create better facilities in all areas with special focus on hilly and rural areas. “Road connectivity, education, health sectors received special attention. Kathar bridge was constructed to create direct link of Chowki Chowra and other adjoining areas with Reasi and Katra. As regard health sector, 50 bedded emergency hospital at Chowki Chowra is under construction,” he said.
Seeking support for another stint as MLA, the Minister said that they must take into consideration the works done by him in the areas and endorse his candidature if they are satisfied with his performance. He said many people will come to make a claim for their candidature, but the voters must take a conscience decision while making a choice for their representative.
Sarpanchs, Panchs of all the panchayats of Pahari Mandel and local Congress leaders also addressed the gathering and pledged to support the Congress Party and its nominee, Sham Lal Sharma in the current Assembly elections.
