VHP condemns firing incident at Trikuta Nagar

JAMMU, Nov 6: VHP has strongly condemned the firing incident by two Alto borne youth in Trikuta Nagar area this morning and demanded a thorough probe into the incident and punishment to culprits.
In a statement here today VHP patron Dr Rama Kant Dubey and its president Leela Karan Sharma termed the fire incident a conspiracy to disturb peace in the region during the elections and urged the Government to hold a thorough probe into the matter.
They, while rejecting the theory given by the police that one of the youth who fired the shots was a psychiatric patient, said that only a thorough probe will bring the facts to light. They said that there can be also a reason that some anti national elements or terrorist groups wanting to disturb the situation have utilized the mentally disturbed person for such an act.
The VHP leaders while terming it a serious incident said that they have taken up the issue with DIG Jammu and higher ups in administration and demanded that proper vigil be maintained in view of threat warnings given by militants and recent explosion at Wagah and militancy related incidents in Valley.
Meanwhile Bajrang Dal also protested against the firing incident and demanded stern action against the guilty.
