JAMMU, Nov 6: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) today said that if the political parties are really interested in rehabilitation of Pandits back in Valley, they must give an assurance to the community in their poll manifesto and clear their stand on various demands of the community.
In a statement issued here, today KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri said that poll parties should clear their stand on the demand of KPs regarding their one place settlement in Valley, passage of Shrines and Temples Bill, grant of employment package in Central Government departments and undertakings, one time compensation to the tune of Rs 25,0000 to over aged youth, restoration of their property encroached over the years and declaration of distress sale as null and void besides abrogation of Article 370 a main barrier between State and rest of India.
The KPC said that the political parties who have been shedding crocodile tears on Pandits plight should clear their stand in their Party manifestos. It said the mass exodus of Pandits from Valley is a national tragedy and the Government of India should keep in mind the aspirations of the community while framing any return module.
