JAMMU, Nov 7: Keeping his party’s options clear and open, BJP MP from Punjab and incharge J&K, Avinash Rai Khanna today said that party will talk to any one in J&K who is ready to join the national mainstream and fight the dynastic rule and corruption in the State.
Talking to reporters at the sidelines of a Party function here in which leaders of various political parties and social organizations joined BJP, Mr Khanna said BJP will join hands with any one in the State who joins national mainstream and is ready to fight dynastic rule and corruption which are eating up vitals of the society.
Refuting that Party has softened its stand on Article 370 as alleged, he said that BJP is for an open debate whether special status granted to the State has benefited the people or harmed their interests. He said if it has been beneficial for the State then it should remain and in case it has harmed the interests of the people there should be no objection in its abrogation.
Mr Khanna also denied that there was any dissidence in the party and the deserving candidates were denied tickets saying that the Party will take every one along.
He said the mandates were given to people on the basis of winability to achieve the Party’s Mission 44+. The BJP is becoming the only viable alternative in the State and people from other political parties are joining the party in large numbers every day. The people who joined the Party today have a strong public base and without divulging the name, he said that on November 9 a heavy weight politician form the State is also joining the Party.
During the function JSM headed by Virender Gupta merged into BJP while former Mayor and Jat leader, Choudhary Manmohan Singh, NPP leader, Anil Parihar, J&K Refugees Front president, Pawan Sharma, JJSF ex-president Naveen Sharma, Retd. DySP Vijay Gupta, also joined BJP along with their supporters joined the Party and declared that they will work for the victory of BJP in the elections.
These leaders said that they were highly influenced by Mr Modi’s performance and are of firm belief that the Jammu region will get rid of discrimination under his leadership.
The function besides Mr Khanna was attended by BJP state president and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Incharge Party’s Election Campaign Committee, Dr Nirmal Singh, State vice-president Vibodh Gupta, State general secretary Kavinder Gupta, State spokespersons Farooq Khan and Sunil Sethi, BJYM Ex-national president Ram Ashok Rai, Jammu-Poonch Prabhari Yudhvir Sethi and other senior leaders.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while welcoming the new entrants, said that more and more people are joining BJP as Narendra Modi wave has made them to realize that BJP is the need of the hour and parties like Congress, NC and PDP need to be shown the door for policies which resulted into mis-governance, nepotism, corruption, discrimination with Jammu and Ladakh etc.
BJP State secretary Munish Sharma conducted the proceedings of the function.
