JAMMU, Nov 8: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantamanu today inaugurated a stall set up by the Department of Animal Husbandry at Jhiri Mela.
District Development Commissioner Jammu, A.K. Sahu and Director Animal Husbandry Jammu Dr. Sham Lal Bhagat were also present on the occassion.
The dignitaries inspected the stall besides visiting calf rally and selected the best calves and awarded cash prizes. They also interacted with the visiting farmers.
A large number of people visited the Animal Husbandry stall where various exhibits were displayed for public besides this R.I.R birds were kept for exhibition wherein people took keen interest and appreciated the role of Animal Husbandry Department.
Moreover, literature for general awareness related to management, healthcare, genetic improvement of animals & employment opportunities in dairy and poultry sectors was also distributed in the Mela.
The programme was organized by Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Jammu, Dr. R.K. Bharti. Dr. P.N. Koul PDO Jammu, Dr .Raj Kumar LDO Jammu, Dr. Javed Katoch (Extension Officer Publicity Wing Jammu, doctors and paravet staff attended the programme.
