Srinagar, Nov 8: Supreme Court lawyer and Chairman Kashmir Committee Ram Jethmalani today said Hurriyat Conference leaders are not separatists but pro-India as majority of them want to be with India.
Without naming any Hurriyat leaders, Jathmalani said that these people are not the agents of Pakistan and media should stop calling them as separatists as “they are pro-India”.
He also accused media for portraying them as separatists’. “Ask them what they stand for and you will come to know”, he said.
He said he met the separatists last time and told them if there was any restraint on them. “They complain but never accept when asked if they will come with an evidence of restrain I will go to Supreme Court,” he added.
Jethmalani asked the BJP to stop seeking abrogation of Article 370. “Even I am a supporter of Narendra Modi but I want to ask BJP to refrain from calling abrogation of Article 370. It is the basic structure of Constitution of India and the accession of Jammu and Kashmir is full and final,” he said.
He also advocated former Pakistan ruler Pervez Musharraf’s four-point formula on Kashmir.
Jethmalani, who is the chairman of Kashmir committee, also claimed he had made some changes to Musharraf’s proposal and the purpose of the document was that there should be a secular democracy on both sides of Kashmir.
