It is unbelievable, but it is true. No one had expected that Indian men’s hockey team would defeat World Champions Australia in such a fashion.
After losing the first game, India came back to win three games on the trot to seal one of their memorable series wins. The win has come after a pretty long time and a string of defeats.
Of late, Indian hockey team has shown signs of recovery. The team has transformed much under the guidance of present coach. There was a time when Indian Hockey was on the verge of losing its existence. The team was riven with factionalism and courted controversies time and again. At times it was coach who was under cloud or it were players who made headlines for non performance. As a result, the game in India lost its ardent fans, and with each pessing day, the game was becoming unpopular among masses. The revival is surely going to help it become popular masses. Wish the present team take it back to glory it enjoyed some decades back.
