Charak tours Bishnah, takes stock of problems

JAMMU, Nov 11: Senior Congress leader, Gulchain Singh Charak today conducted a day-long tour of Bishnah block and held a series of public meetings to know various local problems and recapitulating the progress and developmental works carried out by the Congress party in the recent past for the welfare and prosperity of the people.
Besides, holding nukad meetings in Ward Numbers, 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Bishnah town, various public meetings were organized at village Bandrala and Dabbar which were attended by a large number of villagers besides Congress workers in strength.
During these meetings, the villagers highlighted problems they faced like un-safe drinking water, irregular supply of drinking water and electricity, un-scheduled curtailments of electricity, non-availability of proper accommodation and adequate teaching faculty in the local Degree College, poor sanitation system, non availability of vehicle parking facilities in the town, etc.
Addressing the meetings, Charak enjoined upon the Congress workers to reach out to the common people at grass root level and work out the strategy how to mitigate their sufferings and also to mobilize people to strengthen the Congress cadres.
He further emphasized that, if elected, he will leave no stone unturned to restore the crippled electricity, PHE, irrigation, medicare system and the mal-functioning of the local municipality. He assured public that efforts will be made to provide sufficient accommodation required for the local Degree College besides ensuring that adequate teaching faculty was made available to cater to the requirements of the students.
Moreover, he said better parking facilities and a separate place for the bus stand will also be ensured. De-silting of the canal and better drainage system shall also be undertaken, he added.
