KATHUA, Nov 11: Hundreds of BJP workers and supporters took to the streets at various places in Billawar like Nagrota, Challan and Gurha Kalyal and held strong protest against the BJP High Command after the latter announced Dr Nirmal Singh as party candidate from Billawar constituency.
The protestors raised slogans “Nirmal Go Back” and condemned the decision of giving ticket to a candidate from outside the constituency who has no hold in the area.
They said that Nirmal Singh has very less attachment with people of Billawar and he did not know even 10 per cent of the voters. Moreover, he contested election so many times and each time he got defeated, the protestors added.
They said that their faith in the High Command has totally shaken and appealed the BJP High Command to review the decision. They demanded Narayan Dutt Tripathi as BJP candidate from Billawar.
