Copper futures down 0.25% on weak global cues, low demand

NEW DELHI, Nov 12:  Copper prices fell 0.25 per cent to Rs 417.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions, tracking a weak trend in base metals overseas amid subdued domestic demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month February next year eased by Rs 1.05, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 417.70 per kg in a business turnover of 31 lots.
Metal for delivery in November also fell by 70 paise, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 412.05 per kg in 1,187 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to weak trend in base metals in the global markets as strengthening dollar erodes appeal for commodities priced in the greenback.
At the London Metal Exchange copper for three-month delivery dropped by 0.1 per cent to USD 6,683.50 a tonne. (PTI)
