JAMMU, Nov 12: Independent candidate from Udhampur constituency, Pawan Kumar Gupta today said that his fight is not with a particular candidate or party but with falsehood and injustice.
Addressing a well attended public meeting here this evening, Pawan questioned the BJP candidate’s own groundwork and commitment to people. He asked him not to hide himself behind Narender Modi’s skirts and tell the people what he himself has done in the past 6 years to deserve election.
Coming down heavily on the sitting MLA, Pawan commented on how the development of the town has come to a standstill since the past 12 years. He promised to radically change the existing landscape of Udhampur.
Promising 24×7 electricity (at proper voltage), water connectivity and supply to all villages, he empathized with the current plight of the villagers. He further promised to work for the development of Devika River front and take it to its pristine glories.
Further, committing to bring the Asian Development Bank project to the city, he promised that his focus will be on creating job based development.
During the meeting, the speakers praised Pawan for his ability to have made a grass root connection despite of never actually having come to power.
