JAMMU, Nov 13: J&K Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organized a seminar on issues in recently issued VAT SRO’s, e-filing of VAT Returns and VAT Audit Report.
CA Hardeep Aggarwal and CA Arun Kumar Gupta were the guest faculties on the occasion. They deliberated in detail about the implications of the SRO’s and issues relating to e-filing of VAT returns.
It was discussed amongst the members that the extension has not been granted under GST and CST in line with VAT SRO’s. It was also deliberated that the SRO’s have not clarified the definition of C and F Agents to whom such benefit of extension has not been granted. Further, it was deliberated that a clarification is required with respect to revised returns.
CA Vikram Garg, chairman, J&K Branch, while welcoming the guests emphasized on the importance of the topics of the seminar and appealed to the Department of Commercial Taxes to clarify on the various issues affecting the dealers.
CA Sat Sharma who has obtained mandate from Jammu (West) constituency was the special invitee. While deliberating on the topics, he stressed that various ambiguities in the State laws need to be addressed for the benefit of business community.
CA Shalay Razdan, secretary, J&K Branch of ICAI, conducted the proceedings while CA Sandeep Pachnanda, vice-chairman presented the vote of thanks.
