Pak airstrikes kill 30 militants in North Waziristan

ISLAMABAD :  At least 30 militants, including some foreigners, were killed in aerial strikes by Pakistani military jets in the troubled northwestern tribal areas on the Afghan border, army officials said today.
The aerial attacks targeted rebels in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, where the military has launched a major offensive against the Taliban.
The Army today said the 30 terrorists killed in the attacks also included some foreigners.
The slain militants were yet to be identified.
So far more than 1200 militants have been killed since the start of military operation Zarb-e-Azb in June following a brazen militant attack on Karachi’s international airport and the failure of peace talks between the government and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) negotiators.
The army has repeatedly said that the operation would continue till militancy was completely wiped out of the country. (AGENCIES)
