JAMMU, Nov 14: Miran Sahib police solved theft case within 24 hours with the arrest of the accused and recovery of stolen gold chain along with locket.
As per police sources, Galdev Raj, son of Loi Ram of Basti Maralia lodged a written report with Miran Sahib police station that some unidentified persons entered his room and decamped with gold chain, locket and Rs 5000 cash.
Acting swiftly, a case under FIR number 29/14 under Section 454 and 380 was registered with police station Miran Sahib and investigation set into motion.
During the course of investigation, police picked up Lucky Kumar, son of Prem Chand of Basti Maralia and during interrogation, he confessed to commit the crime. On his disclosure, police recovered stolen gold chain and locket.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Devinder Singh, SP Headquarters Randhir Singh and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
