Cleanliness drive, rallies mark “Swaach Bharat Abhiyan”

JAMMU, Nov 15: Cleanliness drive and rallies organized by educational institutions marked “Swaach Bharat Abhiyan”.
A rally was organized by the students and the staff of Delhi Public School, SMVDU-Katra under “Swaach Bharat Abhiyan”. The rally was flagged off by Anil Kumar Chandail, Sub Divisional Magistrate along with Sunil Kumar, Commandant 6 Battalion CRPF, Kulbir Singh SP Katra, Sham Lal Kesar, President Hotel and Restaurant Association and RK Verma, Principal Delhi Public School, SMVDU-Katra.
May Fair Higher Secondary School, Chand Nagar organized a cleanliness drive. The students started by cleaning their classes. Various areas of the school campus were allocated to different classes. Later, Scouts and Guides Wing of the school under the supervision of School Administrator Lalita Chadha and Scouts and Guides Incharge Neeru organized a rally and aware the residents about the benefits of keeping the surroundings clean. Vijay Kumar Basur, Chairman of the institution encouraged the participants to continue this zeal in future also. Vice Principal Mamta Anand along with School Co-Curricular Activities Co-ordinator Kamaljeet supervised the complete programme.
TS Public School organized sports week and “Swaach Pathshala Abhiyan”. The programme started with the speech given by EVS lecturer Meenakshi Raina. The students along with teachers took pledge to keep the compound of the school and surroundings of locality clean. During sports week, various games were organized. On the valedictory function, Chairperson Pooja Malhotra laid stress on the importance of cleanliness and also highlighted the importance of sports.
