JAMMU, Nov 17: Government College of Education, Jammu and Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Prevention and Control Society, Department of Health and Medical Education, J&K Government, organized an awareness programme on HIV/AIDS at college premises.
Dr Aruna Verma, Consultant, Preventive and Social Medicine, Government Medical College, Jammu, delivered lecture to the students and staff members of the college and threw light on all the aspects of HIV/ AIDS, its causes, spread and the preventive measures which ought to be taken to prevent the disease from taking an alarming turn.
Prof (Dr) Ajeet Angral, principal of the college, appreciated the efforts of Dr Aruna Verma for her thought provoking lecture on this vital subject. The interaction was very informative and the audience generated good response.
The program was anchored by Dr Piyali Arora, convener, Red Ribbon Club and vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Ashu Jolly of Red Ribbon Club.
