JAMMU, Nov 19: Government Degree College (GDC), Bishnah organized a Symposium on the topic “Role of Youth in Quami Ekta” under the supervision of Dr Suman Charak, NSS Programme Officer and under the convenership of Dr Rupinder Kour.
The proceedings of the programme were initiated by Dr Suman Charak.
Earlier, Prof Kalpana Kesar, Principal of the College presented bouquet to Mohd Sayeed, Tehsildar Bishnah who was the chief guest on the occasion followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the dignitaries and the staff members.
Dr. Suman Charak introduced the various events to be undertaken during the programme and honoured Pooja Devi for giving excellent performance in NSS NIC Sonipat.
Monika Kaith initiated the proceedings.
Over 100 volunteers participated in National Integration Pledge and Community Song “Hind Desh Ke Nivasi”.
8 volunteers participated in the symposium who highlighted the role of the youth to maintain Quami Ekta.
Monika Kaith, Renu and Avilash were adjudged I, II and III respectively by the panel of judges comprising of Prof Archana Bakshi, Dr. Alka Sharma and Dr Seema Jamwal.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest encouraged the young volunteers to march ahead with the slogans of communal harmony and national integration and also generated awareness among the volunteers regarding constitutional rights & duties and SVEEP 2014.
Prof. Kalpana Kesar, Principal of the College also spoke on the occasion.
