Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘Age old Dogra cultural heritage on display at Kala Kendra’.
The showcasing of Dogra heritage on the occasion of World Heritage Week was a step in right direction. It presented an excellent opportunity to visitors to come across 200 exhibits of heritage importance.
These exhibits are quite important from the historical point of view. They act as a bridge between our past, present and future. These items have a history associated with them, and are a reflection of our cultual heritage.
There is need to pass on this heritage to our coming generations, who in turn have to nourish it by assimilating it in their day to day life. The cultural heritage is under severe stress due to changing complexion of world order.
Mass media can be of immense help in perpetuating this legacy to posterity.
Yours etc…
