JAMMU, Nov 21:
A total of 166 candidates have filed their nomination papers for 16 constituencies that will go to polls on December 9 in the third phase of the Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir.
An official of the Election Commission said, “As today was the last day of filing of nomination papers, 166 candidates have filed their papers for the third phase of Assembly election that are scheduled to be held on December 9.”
The 16 constituencies are spread over three districts– Baramulla, Budgam and Pulwama.
For the Uri seat, five candidates have filed their nomination papers, in Rafiabad 13, Sopore 23, Sangrama 10, Baramulla 14, Gulmarg 9, Pattan 16, Chadoora 9, Budgam 7, Beerwah 8, Khansahib 8, Charar-i-Sharief 10, Tral 9, Pampore 7, Pulwama 10 and Rajpora 8.
The scrutiny of the papers will be held on November 22 while November 24 has been fixed as the last day for withdrawal of nomination. (AGENCIES)
