It is sad that for the past few weeks, the telecom service provided by the State owned mobile phone company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)has not been satisfactory.Often the subscribers face problems such as network congestion and for every call, they have to make three or four calls. Moreover, there is low voice quality and disturbance during calling. Thus the subscribers are put to a lot of inconvenience and are,in fact, being taken for a ride though the company is revenue worth millions of rupees from the state. Many a time the subscribers find it impossible to establish contact with their friends and relatives even in case of emergency. Network problem is more acute in rural and remote areas. Therefore, it is the moral and constitutional responsibility of the Government to act against the Telco to ensure that subscribers are able to avail of the telecom services to their satisfaction and they donot suffer because of no fault of theirs. The company must also take immediate steps to upgrade its infrastructure and services to survive the highly competitive market and excel the other Telcos in earning good revenue to improve its market share.

Marta Hr Sec sans water
This is to bring in the notice of the School Education Department and district administration Udhampur that there is no provision for drinking water in Marta Higher Secondary School Ramnagar. In absence of it, students have been experiencing great inconvenience since long. The problem had been highlighted before the PHE authorities a number of times but to no avail. As a result, students had to stage a protest against the apathetic attitude of the PHE departments.
It may be mentioned here that every educational institution should have a provision for drinking water in its premises. So is here. There is a water tank in the premises but the PHE does not supply water to it even after several reminders. Hope the PHE authorities wake up to the problems of students at the earliest.

Arnia-Bishnah Road in shambles
I want to bring to the notice of the concerned authorities the miserable condition of the Arnia Bishnah road. There are two routes between these towns, one via Pandorian and the other via Salehar. Both these roads are in very bad condition. The length of each road is about 16 Km. The much used route is via Salehar being a little shorter.
The condition of this road is quite bad. The road is full of craters here and there. Most of the employees and routine passengers who travel to Bishnah and Jammu face much difficulties and irritation while using their own vehicles or public transport. Both these border towns are big and have been given the Tehsil status. Hence the traffic flow is much higher.
The matter has been brought to the notice of the local MLA and the authorities several times but the problem remained unsolved and the public continued suffering. It is therefore requested to the authorities to take note of the problem and start the repair work immediately so that the public does not suffer further.

Electricity shortage hits Swarn Vihar
This is to bring in the notice of the Chief Engineer Power Development Department (PDD) that Swarn Vihar which is almost 100 percent metered area experiences power cuts day in and day out. After witnessing a horrible summer, people of the Vihar had expected that they would get a reprieve during winter season. But that notion seems be unfounded.
While adjacent areas enjoy round the clock electricity, one fails to understand why Swarn Vihar has been singled out for power cuts.
The Department had assured that the Colony will not experience any load shedding, as the department had e-metered the area and even revised load consumed. The people suffer even after paying electric dues regularly and as per meter readings. Does PDD expect that people should come on roads, stage protest and stop traffic first and only then it would wake up to this problem?

Kendriya Vidyalaya at Budgam
This is to bring in the notice of Dr Jitendra Singh, Central Minister and Tariq Hamid Qarra representing Srinagar constituency that there is no Kendriya Vidyalaya in Budgam district. There is one Kendriya Vidyalaya at Srinagar airport, but due to security concerns, the admission of civilians is very less. More over, there is growing need and urgency to have Central Government CBSE school in the district.
So it is submitted that the matter be personally pursued with Ministry of HRD to open new Kendriya Vidyalaya in Budgam district in civil sector for the welfare of Budgam district.
