AKHNOOR, Nov 24: While others agenda remains to grab power much before the popular verdict, Pradesh Congress has re-pledged its commitments towards those issues which guarantee development peace, prosperity and progress of the State and to seek popular mandate of three regions for equitable as well as redressed each grievance of neglected areas.
It was emphasized by Sham Lal Sharma Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control addressing election meetings in Akhnoor today.
Welcoming Congress pledge for Regional Development Councils, Mr. Sharma said devolution of power and re-strengthening of Panchyati Raj system in State are popular aspirations and party will certainly ask for overwhelming popular mandate to Congress.
Sharma without naming those elements who are busy in pretending that they are being going to form next Government in fact for their betrayal politics just to struggle for one digit legislators in new Assembly whereas Congress shall be single largest party to stake claim for formation of Government to lead secular and nationalist powers in the State.
Continuing his address amidst slogans from huge gathering, Mr Sharma reiterated that Akhnoor people assigned him three tasks at the time of his election as MLA in 2004, opening of Degree College, second bridge on river Chenab, up-gradation of Girls High School; however , as witnessed by citizens doing all these, to provide adequate drinking water 9 tube wells constructed with backup system probably could be seen anywhere in any part of the State, 4 bridges on river Chenab, Mini Secretariat, one Ayurvedic College, one Nursing College, Nirdosh Chowk widening besides replacement/repairs of obsolete city electrification , morning walkers path on Chenab river, development of all city Ghats to give new look are the major achievements.
He regretted that if few handfuls vested political interests for the sake of criticism would shut their eyes on his 12 years performances, Akhnoor people must answer them with majority votes from city and entire constituency.
Sham Lal urged upon women voters and youths in particular that development and progress is the main election agenda of his performance and should be compared with his predecessors whom they had rejected repeatedly.
