Cong to provide plots to border people: Chib

R S Pura, Nov 26: Former Minister and Congress candidate for Suchetgarh Assembly segment, R S Chib today said that if elected he will work hard and pressurize the Govt to settle the issues like plots at safer places, compensation for the land under ditch and bund and granting OBC status to Jat community.
Addressing the meeting of residents living along International Border (IB) and across ditch and bund at Suchetgarh, Mr Chib supported the demand alternative land measuring  five marlas  to the borders residents keavubg in firing range. He said that the proposal of allotting plots of 5 marlas at safer places was prepared during the tenure of Sh Gulam Nabi Azad but the proposal was stalled by some vested interests, He assured the border residents that if eleted as representative of the area, he will pressurize the Govt for providing alternative land to the border residents so that they can shift to the safer places with their families at the time of escalation of tension on the border.
He also endorsed the demand benefits given to the people living on Line of Control (LoC) to those living near the IB because residents of both the areas are facing similar problems.
Mr Chib assured the gathering that he will also raise the issue of payment of compensation of the which has fallen under ditch and bund.
Coming to the long pending demand of granting of OBC status to Jat community granted in other states  like Rajsthan and Harayana, R S Chib said that Congress is already fighting for this and president of PCC  Prof Saiffudin Soz has raised the issue a number of times with State and Centre govt.
