JU organises India National Rounds of Stetson International Environmental Moot Competition

JAMMU, Nov 28: The Law School, University of Jammu is organizing the India National Rounds of 19th Stetson International Environmental Moot Competition (2014 -15) from 28th to 30th November.
Leading National Law Schools and Law Universities of India are participating in this mega event. The competition is witnessing record participation from twenty eight (28) teams of the best Law Schools of the country.
Various legal luminaries and International Law experts from all over India are adjudging the event. The final four teams shall represent India at Florida (USA).
During inaugural ceremony today, Prof R D Sharma, JU Vice-Chancellor, said that it was a matter of great satisfaction and pride that the Law School was chosen to organise this mega event. He said there are several methods of learning and when all these methods are competitive in nature, these add value to the educational system. These kinds of activities if regularly held will change the mindset of the students, their future prospectus and their ability to handle every walk of life, added Prof Sharma.
Advocate and Head, Academic Initiatives Surana and Surana International Attorneys, was guest of honour on the occasion. He narrated the rules of the moot court competition and briefed the participants about various procedural matters to be observed while arguing for this competition.
Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Dean, Faculty of Law and Director, The Law School University of Jammu, highlighted main aspects of this competition and future endeavours of The Law School.
The inaugural function concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Seema Sharma, the Moot Court Coordinator.
Among others, Prof V D Singh, Director DDE, Dr Sanjay Gupta, Academic Coordinator Law School and Jai Kumar Sharma, Special Secretary to VC, were also present on the occasion.
