JAMMU, Nov 28: In view of devastation due to floods in Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 119 of the Income Tax Act, has further extended due date of furnishing return of income tax from November 30, 2014 to March 31, 2015.
The order has been issued in cases of Income Tax assesses in Jammu and Kashmir, which are covered under clause (a) or clause (aa) of Explanation 2 to Sub Section (1) of Section 139 of the Act.
The due date for obtaining and furnishing reports of audit for the assesses in the Jammu and Kashmir under various provisions of the Act pertaining to such returns of income has also been extended to March 31, 2015.
