l Prime Minister Narendra Modi like Kishtwar addressed biggest ever rallies in Udhampur and Poonch today. He delivered 33 minutes speech in Udhampur and spoke for 37 minutes in border town of Poonch.
l Modi visited Brigadier Pritam Singh memorial in Poonch before addressing the rally and paid glowing tributes to the `Saviour of Poonch’ in 1947. Modi said just like Sher-i-Poonch Brig Pritam Singh had saved in 1947, it was time for the people of Poonch to save Jammu and Kashmir from destruction and corruption by voting BJP to power with full majority.
l Like Kishtwar rally and BJP manifesto, Modi skipped controversial issue of Article 370 from his both Udhampur and Poonch rallies.
l The Prime Minister invoked Goddess Vaishno Devi thrice in his speech. At the end of his rally, Modi asked the people to speak `Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ loudly as the Goddess was hearing their voice.
l Modi, however, made no mention of formidable and potential Independent candidate and BJP rebel Pawan Gupta, who is contesting election against BJP candidate Pawan Khajuria, in his speech. He also made no mention of regional party-the NPP, which posed major challenge in all three seats of Udhampur district.
l BJP candidates for all 6 segments of Udhampur and Reasi districts were present in Modi’s Udhampur rally while three party candidates from Poonch district shared the dais with the Prime Minister in Poonch. All these three districts of Jammu region will go to polls in second phase of polling on December 2.
l Modi said he had been visiting Jammu and Kashmir every month since July and will visit the State in December also.
l Minister of State (MoS) for PMO Dr Jitendra Singh was the lone speaker after the arrival of the Prime Minister in Udhampur.
