UP based narco smuggler held with poppy straw

JAMMU, Nov 29: Police today arrested Uttar Pradesh (UP) based narcotic smuggler along with over 1.5 quintals of poppy straw from ladwal morh, falling under the jurisdiction of Batote police station.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Batote police station laid a naka at Ladwal morh and intercepted a Jammu bound 407 vehicle bearing registration PB32K-7988.
During checking, police recovered 11 bags of poppy straw weighing around 155 kilograms and arrested the driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as Mehfooz, son of Alam Din, a resident of Uttar Pardesh.
A case under FIR number 124/14 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Batote.
Police team led by Incharge SHO Batote police station SI Muhammad Irfan made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban NS Parihar and SSP Ramban Javed Iqbal Matoo.
