SHOPIAN, Nov 30: Police today recovered Rs 14 lakh from a car and arrested three persons in South Kashmir district of Shopian today.
Police recovered the cash amounting to Rs 14 lakh from a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK01G- 6922 during a routine Naka at Shopian main Chowk under supervision of SHO Shopian Javid Ahmad.
Three persons Sheikh Masarat resident of Poshnoo Awantipora, Bilal Dar of Panzgaam Pulwama and Zahoor Fafoo of Mehjoor Nagar Srinagar who were travelling in the car were arrested.
“We were on routine checking ,while checking one Tavera we found a bag full of currency notes, amounting to Rs 14 lakh”, said SHO Shopian Javid Ahmad.
The police officer said that they are investigating the seizure of the cash. “We don’t know yet whether it is linked to elections or not”, he added.
