RAJOURI/ KATHUA, Dec 7: Former Union Minister and BJP National spokesperson, Shahnawaz Hussian today lashed out at Congress for launching a hate campaign against BJP and creating fear psychosis among minorities about the party.
Addressing election meetings at Budhal in Darhal Assembly Segment and Kalakote Assembly Segment in Rajouri district, Mr Hussian said BJP is most secular party in the country which believes in the principle of justice to all and appeasement to none.
He said Congress over the years has spread canards against the BJP that it is a communal party which is totally baseless. It was during the Atal Behari Vajpyee Government that subsidy was given to Haj pilgrims which was not considered during Congress rule. The benefit of this subsidy was given to people in this State also, he added.
He said had BJP been communal then it would have not fielded a Muslim candidate from Kalakote Assembly Segment which is a Hindu majority area and I myself being a Muslim became the Union Minister at the young age of 32 in Vajpayee Government.
He said it was during Vajpayee rule that two routes were opened to PoK besides a bus was taken to Lahore and still BJP is called a communal party.
Highlighting the policies and programmes of BJP, he said the Party will weed out terrorism from the State and convert it into a tourism State.
Taking a dig at successive State governments, he said they have totally ignored J&K in developmental field. The condition of roads in Budhal and Kalakote area is worst he said, adding if BJP comes to power it will end all the discrimination with the people of this hilly belt.
He said it is an irony that Budhal and Kalakote areas still face power and water problem and under BJP rule the discrimination with Rajouri and Poonch will end once for all.
The BJP leader said that the three dynasties ruled at State and at Centre and they were in constant understanding of sharing power. Now the time has come when the people should defeat those parties who believe in dynastic rule so that power in real sense is transferred into the hands of masses, he added.
Terming the Chief Minster, Omar Abdullah a “Twitter boy’’, he said the coalition failed to control corruption in Omar’s rule and it increased many fold in the State during his six year tenure.
The meetings were addressed by BJP vice president, Vivodh Gupta, party candidate from Darhal, Thakur Puran Singh and candidate of Kalakote, Abdul Gani Kohli.
Later addressing the election meeting in border area of Marheen in Hiranagar, Shanawaz Hussian said that border people are brave enough and they have withstood many attacks and cross border shelling boldly and worked shoulder to shoulder with security forces.
He accused Congress and NC coalition of not doing justice to the border people. He appealed the people in the border belt to strengthen BJP to get rid of this injustice.
He made it clear that the development of the State was only possible when there is BJP Government at Centre as well as in the State so that they can work in close coordination with each other.
BJP candidate for Hiranagar, Kuldeep Kumar also addressed the meeting and appealed people to cast their vote in his favour.
