Three held with haul of liquor pouches at Katra

JAMMU, Dec 9: Continuing its drive against smuggling of narcotic products in the holy town of Katra, police nabbed three persons and recovered haul of liquor from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Katra police station during naka checking at Nomian intercepted a Maruti car bearing registration number JK20-0205.
During checking, police recovered 140 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested three persons, who were traveling in the car.
The accused have been identified as Suresh Kumar, son of Kartar Chand Bhagat, a resident of Panthal, Vishal Kumar, son of Girdhari Lal, a resident of Kot Bhalwal and Nirmal Kumar, son of Pritam Lal, a resident of Barnai.
The arrested persons were on their way to holy town Katra to sell the illicit liquor, but before that, they were caught by the Katra police.
A case under FIR number 271/14 under Section 188 RPC and 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Katra against the accused and investigation started. Police team led by SHO Katra Ajay Bhatt made the arrest under the supervision of SP Katra Kulbir Singh.
