Annual meeting of Red Cross officials held

JAMMU, Dec 10: The annual meeting of Red Cross officials of Jammu region was organized by Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu & Kashmir State Branch at Red Cross Bhawan, Jammu.
The meeting was chaired by Roma Wani, the honorary general secretary.
Representatives from the districts of Jammu region participated in the meeting that was organized to review the activities of Red Cross Society at all levels and to develop and promote better networking between different units of the Society.
Various achievements and challenges vis a vis Red Cross Mission activities were discussed along with the methods to be evolved for better response to the calamities faced by the masses.
Roma Wani while discussing the response and relief operations of Red Cross during the recent floods in J&K underlined the need for strengthening the volunteer base in their respective districts for carrying out Red Cross operations in a coordinated and effective way at the time of any emergency.
The participants also shared their experiences about emergency response to the recent floods in their respective districts.
