SRINAGAR, Dec 11: Former Union Minister and PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has appealed the people of Kashmir to support Congress Party for better development and seeking resolution of their issues.
In a hectic tour in the Down Town area here today, Prof Soz (MP), addressed public rallies at Goripora, Kreshbal and Sangam (Iddgah Constituency) at Wantapora (Zadibal constituency), at Nishat (Sonwar constituency). He urged the people to support and vote for Congress Party candidates as this party knows how to serve the people best.
Prof Soz explained to the people that vote in this election has power in two directions. It will mean fillip to the development process and solution of problems like employment for unemployed youth, construction of roads, provision of adequate electricity and drinking water, fulfillment of other needs of the people; and another aspect is that it is the Congress Party alone that will not join hands with the communal forces like RSS and BJP, neither in the State nor at the Centre. He urged the people to vote for peace, progress and prosperity and also vote for fighting communal forces in the country.
The PCC chief cautioned the people on hidden agenda of the RSS and Narendra Modi as they are dead set to seek abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution of India; but he ( Prof Soz) was confident that the people of J&K will not allow any power on earth to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution of India. As explained in the recently released manifesto, Congress Party has accepted that Article 370 of the Constitution of India is an integral part of the basic structure of the Constitution of India and it can never be changed.
He was accompanied by Mohd Muzaffar Parray MLC, Farooq Andrabi, Shameema Raina, general secretaries, Khemlata Wakhloo, Dr Syed Ahmad and others.
