Vinod Khanna appeals people to give BJP a chance Mir Farhat

Srinagar, Dec 12: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vinod Khanna today said his party is providing an opportunity to the people of Kashmir, who have been going through pain for a long time, to change their situation.
“The people of Kashmir have gone through pain. Bloodshed and loot has been rampant here while development has been completely lacking,” Khanna, the veteran Bollywood actor-turned-politician told reporters at Humahama near Srinagar Airport.
The BJP Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur, who is here to garner support for his party candidates, said Kashmiris should grab the opportunity of making their situation better and should elect BJP for the Government.
“Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the quality of developing the country. BJP Governments in States like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh and Goa and now in Haryana and Maharashtra have seen quite a lot of development taking place,” he said.
He said that if people want to change their situation then should have a BJP Government here.
Khanna said the image of the country under Modi had changed and the focus now was on development.
On a question about Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik’s reportedly saying that that Ram Temple should be built at Babri Masjid site, Khanna said such issues not become election issues.
Over the alleged forced conversions of Muslims in Agra, the BJP leader said the issue has been discussed in the Parliament.
“There was a discussion over it in the Parliament yesterday and it has been responded to by the Government. But these along with Ram Temple issues are old. If you dig out dead issues, then they become political,” he said.
Accusing the PDP and NC of flourishing corruption, Khanna said the two families have ruined the State.
“People of the State have understood that two families (Abdullah and Mufti) have ruled here and only flourished corruption. There no development and the State Government did not help the people during the floods,” he said.
