AKHNOOR, Dec 12: Minister for  PHE, I&FC and Congress candidate from Akhnoor Sham Lal Sharma today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should clear his party stand on Article 370 and Chief Minister from Jammu region.
Addressing public meetings at Jamotian, Mawa Brahmana, Garh, Badgal and Nardai villages of Akhnoor constituency today, Mr Sharma said that BJP’s U-turn on all issues is directly affecting the people of Jammu region in particular and State as whole and has shattered popular trust which people reposed in Modi to vote him as Prime Minister. Mr Modi should clear his party stand on Article 370 and CM from Jammu. He said that BJP’s back tracking has demoralized nationalist forces and they want to seek reply from the top BJP leadership.
Launching scathing attack on BJP, Mr Sharma accused the party of pursuing the NC and Hurriyat Conference agendas, joining hands with separatists for petty political gains. The Congress leader described BJP as divided house which has betrayed Jammu region while publicly admitted their soft attitude on Kashmir centric parties, favouring revocation of AFSPA to appease pro-Pakistan and their patronized militant outfits in Valley to bargain votes for BJP candidates.
Mr Sharma cautioned Jammu masses and said that such opportunistic politics and political gimmicks for exploiting their sentiments have serious political repercussion. He urged upon them to vote for Congress which always serves their interests as in its manifesto Regional Development Councils and Reservations for IB residents would provide equitable share in developmental funds and opportunities in Government jobs.
The MLA reiterated his 12 years period as turning point in ushering of new era of development and prosperity in Akhnoor constituency, gave an open invitation to all those opponents campaigning in this constituency  to seek votes; to see themselves transformed constituency being served by their elected representative meaningfully and with vision.  He disclosed that right thinking people and political activists who believe in developmental agenda and performances have started leaving anti Jammu, BJP and NC to join Congress for its victory.
