JAMMU : At least four people were killed and five injured when their passenger taxi skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in mountainous Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Four people died and five injured when their vehicle late last night rolled down into a deep gorge near Goal Bard in tehsil Gandoh of Doda,” police sources here today said. They said rescue operation was launched and the injured were shifted to the district hospital where four of them succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased were identified as Parvaiz Ahmed, 30, son of Hasim Din, resident of Tuti Inhara and Kamlesh Kumar, son of Balwant Singh, resident of Tipri.
Identity of two other deceased persons was yet to be ascertained, police said.
