Cong will win all seats in Rajouri-Poonch: Shabir

RAJOURI, Dec 13: Former Minister and Congress candidate from Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Khan has claimed that Congress party would win all the seats from Rajouri and Poonch districts.
In the meeting a large number of  Congress workers, Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent persons highlighted the development works undertaken in this belt during the past six years and declared it as golden period of development and progress in the history of Rajouri. They congratulated Shabir Khan for making very productive efforts to streamline the health institutions in the State in general and in Rajouri in particular.
The Sarpanchs and Panchs expressed their profound gratitude to Mr Azad, former Union Health Minister for grant of Medical College in Rajouri catering to a sizeable population of the entire hilly border and backward Pir Panchal range. They also patted Shabir Khan for his untiring efforts in the realization of this mega dream project of Medical College.
Mr Khan in his address asked the Congress workers to roll their sleeves up for the coming Assembly elections and assured that the performance of the Congress is commendable and being a truly pro-people party, Congress is set to win all the seven seats in twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch on merit. He said overwhelming popularity of the Congress needs to be translated into votes, so that party could become a vibrant force in all the three regions. It is a prudent fact that spree of development during Azad’s tenure is unforgettable and achievements in respect of overall development of the State during his tenure have no past example.
He assured the party workers and prominent people of the area  that in the coming Assembly elections, all the people of the region shall contribute and will bring a  successful win on all the  seven seats of Rajouri and Poonch district. Khan also said that Congress is committed to uphold and strengthening the special status of J&K and the party will oppose every small or big move to dilute Article 370.  He said some forces which are thinking of weakening or eroding this article are inimical to peace and tranquility in the State.
