Chinar Primary School celebrates Annual Day

JAMMU, Dec 13: Chinar Primary School, the junior wing of Sainik School Nagrota today celebrated its 34th Annual Day at Sainik School auditorium.
Colonel Kapil Dev Kaushal, principal, Sainik School Nagrota and chairman, Chinar Primary School, graced the occasion as chief guest and gave away the academic prizes to meritorious students for the session  2013-14.
The programme began with the welcome address presented by Srivastava. Neena Kaushal, headmistress, Chinar Primary School, presented the Annual Report elaborating the activities, achievements and also infrastructural developments of the school during the past session.
This was followed by a colourful cultural programme wherein the budding artists of the school enthralled the audience with a variety of items including welcome song, Dandiya, Kashmiri folk dance, Punjabi Jashan, etc.
The chief guest awarded trophies and certificates to class-wise toppers and presented the overall championship trophy to Gandhi House. He also felicitated the teachers with special gifts in recognition of their dedicated work in the school.
In his address, the chief guest commended the efforts of the headmistress and staff and equally emphasized on the role of parents in moulding the personality of children.
Lt Col Deepak Singh Thakur, academic secretary and Squadron leader, Vipin Kumar Sharma, administrative secretary and a large number of parents were present to witness the function in the auditorium.
