Shingari appeals voters to judge candidates

JAMMU, Dec 13:   Congress candidate from Jammu West Surinder Singh Shingari has appealed the voters of this constituency to  judge and test the candidate’s working before pushing the button to cast their valuable vote.
“To cast a vote is not something like only physical action, rather it’s a bigger responsibility which is to be performed on the basis of merit of the candidate” Mr Shingari said while conducting poll campaign in various localities of Jammu West.
“The candidates, who are shying away from discussing their own individual merits, are appealing to voters not to consider candidates. If the voters are advised not to consider the contesting candidates then for what these candidates are given party tickets?” Shingari asked.
He said that a candidate must have his own merit to stand in public domain, which cannot be achieved while riding on other’s back. “If we wish to develop political culture using power to vote, we should test each and every candidate on his own basis. This may compel the political parties to field performing candidates rather imposing non performing ones. If we don’t do that, this may demoralize the young person who enters into political system with a commitment to serve the people” he said.
He said that in order to shift the public focus about candidate’s merit, there is propaganda to ignore candidate while casting votes. “Development is being shouted to cover-up deception inflicted by last time BJP MLAs from Jammu who are still part and parcel of the state BJP” he added.
“In last Assembly elections cause of Jammu was made a poll plank by BJP candidates, but it turned into a money minting plan through ‘cross voting’ in State Assembling. Can BJP deny the reality that last time BJP winning candidates sold out the cause of Jammu in State Assembly?” Shingari asked.
“This is the time when voters of Jammu West will cast their vote to cross deception done to them” Shigari said.
He appealed the voters to remember the last time deception delivered to them by the leaders posing themselves as the champion of the cause of Jammu.
